Peter Werth
biography:
Founded in London, Islington N1 in 1975, Peter Werth has been a part of the British menswear landscape for 36 years and has become synonymous with beautifully crafted, British design defined by effortless styling, quality and affordability.
As men around the world continue to smarten up the Spring/Summer 2012 collection provides the perfect solution delivering an aesthetic of clean, sharp lines, vibrant colour and eminently wearable styles.
Polo’s are given a formal feel combining jersey and mercerised cotton pique fabrics with woven cut away button down collars. Taped, concealed and oxford fabric plackets enhance the look. Shirts move seamlessly from softly laundered oxfords, end on ends, chambrays and checks to sharp cottons featuring the cut away and micro button down collars. Highlight colour is used as sleeve trim and inside collar detail. Knitwear is beautifully crafted with sweatshirt styling and shawl collars in soft marl yarns and outerwear provides the summer essentials with cotton blazers and a double breasted Reefer.
Footwear compliments the collection with crepe soles on leather and suede brogues and a superbly executed take on the desert boot.
The formalwear collection has a distinctive British signature with outstanding quality and cut. The four button double breasted jacket has been introduced in sharp blues, Prince of Wales check and chambray fabrics. The classic two button single-breasted, notch lapel features in a charcoal sharkskin and mid grey mohair optic providing the perfect balance to the offering.
The winter collection references utilitarian and military styling in both casualwear and formalwear, beautifully captured in its military wool jackets, complete with military buttons, double patch pockets and epaulettes, and a contemporary take on the pea coat.
The signature offer of relaxed shirts, including Oxfords, with prints, stripes and subtle pattern variations in poplins, end on ends and soft handle cottons. Polo shirts come in autumnal hues of camel, olive, grey and navy, while its Fair-Isle knits are detailed with leather buttons and shawl collars.
Suits include two-button single-breasted, peak and notch lapel jackets in classic navy and charcoal – providing effortless styling that gives men the confidence to be a cut above.
